Name: Jonathan Dranoff
Life-long Marvel fan with a growing interest in great stories from other publishers. Favorite work these days includes anything Astro City, Captain America (especially since Cap's death), and Astonishing X-Men. Favorites of all time: Watchmen, X-Men/X-Factor in the Sinister/Apocalypse era, '70's Avengers, Astro City (especially the single issue with Samaritan and The Infidel), Adam Warlock and the Infinity Watch. Wish list: the ability to read through a D.C. "Infinite" epic, actually understand what's going on, and suspend disbelief.

The iFanboy Letter Column - 10/16/2009
On Oct 16, 2009 11:33 AM@Adam/Zeppo - Two points: 1) Don't give up your loves. Ron won't give up X-Men when he knows it kinda sucks (neither will I), and Conor won't give up Bat-books. If you love Spidey, continue to read Spidey. 2) I think that Josh has a good point about narrative storytelling in the Vertigo books - it's really nice to have a beginning, middle, and end. However, I would suggest that those books a...

On Oct 15, 2009 12:03 PM@TNC Go Phils! Go Dr. Strange - with one caveat. I think that Dr. Strange lived most of his pre-magic life in the 1940's. At that time, the Phils were pretty bad, and the A's were still in town. A lot of Philadelphians of that vintage were A's fans. By the time Stephen got back to America, he moved to lower Manhattan, probably in the late '50's or early '60's. He may have missed the Phillies W...

On Aug 28, 2009 9:00 AMFantastic art on that panel. Not only does Robin actually look like he took a couple of shots to the face, but the circle within a square with a black background makes it feel as though we are looking through a window into the Bat-conversation.

On Aug 25, 2009 3:00 AMWith the Hood starting to crash and burn, Daredevil the head of a network of assasins, and something else not yet revealed, this could be a fight between factions of heroes with morality in various shades of gray (Spider-Man and Cap at one end of the spectrum and Daredevil at the other end, with Punisher as the wild card).

On Aug 18, 2009 9:00 AMAdvanced age Archie is really starting to look like Richie Cunningham right before Ron Howard left the show, and the plots focused on Ralph & Potsie living in a crappy appartment (which I suppose was better than the Teg McGinley years, but it's hard to say).
