Here we are presented with an issue that started awkwardly and ended brilliantly. We learn about Ava Destruction, a femme fatale who stands up well to Sleeper's Miss Misery. Both are shockingly evil and devastatingly sexy. Her character, while cartoonish as described, is made convincing by the Philips art. Also, we have an entire issue with Zack as a non-powered regular guy. It really works, as Zack spirals closer to his ultimate oblivion. I'll agree that Sleeper is better, but this book remains quite imaginative.
