This issue brought the pulp. The series was sold as pulp but at the start it felt like a better Wanted. This issue felt different though. I loved the reveals (even if the last one felt telegraphed beforehand) and the universe built here feels quite strong. Strong enough that I’m sad there’s only another issue of it.

Unless….

David Lafuente does that Ava Destruction spinoff!

On a side note, I think Phillips is officially my favorite artist now. I will read anything he does now. His art gets better with age. Just the way he tells a conversation is remarkable. Few artists (Peter Gross comes to mind) can do it without being over the top.
