The good: A crossover between the Dark Avengers and the X-Men makes perfect sense. It helps that the new haven for mutants in San Francisco has been breached, and the Dark Avengers are the best group of dirtbags to foment more trouble.

The not-so-good: Cyclops is effective as leader of the X-Men in much less strained situations. He is able to assemble his team to work in a streamlined way. However, this book suddenly has Cyke becoming an abdicator of his responsibilities, as each mutant plays into the hand of the humanity first movement. It's a weak plot point, and the implausibility tempered my enthusiasm for the rest of the story.

The analysis: This should be a decent crossover series, but it rests on legs as shaky as those of Secret Wars and the numerous Defenders titles over the years.
