Beautifully presented, clever, and exciting. This is exactly what I want in a Marvel cosmic story. The title “Ascension” is a bit confusing, as this is the story of Darkhawk, as his new mentor Talon teaches him to master his alien armor.

Or does he? This, of course, is the crux of this story. We know little about Talon, except that he claims to be a very old, and last surviving, member of an ancient cosmic army. In fact, he claims that his organization is older than the Nova Corps. When Talon speaks to Darkhawk, it appears that he is being vague.

There is a good reason for this, but to reveal it would be to let loose an outstanding spoiler. Without a doubt, the next issue cannot come fast enough for me. In my opinion, this is the best War of Kings book to date.
