This was a really nice story about why Mockingbird is an interesting character. Without wanting to reveal too much, this was a great story about how a spy teaches a novice to work a covert operation. Marvel has featured good stories about top female spies for years now (Maria Hill, Black Widow, Sharon Carter, and even Carol Danvers come to mind), but in this book, Mockingbird is as tough as Nick Fury. She leads Ronin on a mission and is tough enough to keep him in his place (and Clint is a tough mother himself).

The art is quite good – relatively minimalistic and stylized, and the artistic approach fits the story perfectly.

Of course, there is a fantastic reveal on the last page, and it will obviously be the basis for a great deal of discussion.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I keep seeing references to the last page reveal, but I have to say I saw that coming from early in the book.  Not that it was bad — and it was still a gutpunch for Clint — but it was what I expected to happen.
