  1. If it were in my budget, I would buy this immediately. It will be a great gift for a variety of people this year.

  2. Are they going to intersperse the stories like in the weekly comic, or group them all together?

  3. @katang: They’re all grouped together.

  4. I kick myself twice for not just waiting for the damn collection as I have not reopened a single issue of those newsprints. Cool experiment, but I think the point I missed was an impermanent medium should only ever be accompanied by a much lower price point.

    I will buy this eventually.

  5. Was there any further word on if this edition would contain any additional content? When they started talking about it a few months ago, they said there would be a few extra "strips" but that they couldn’t detail them. Since then, though, there’s been no word on it.

  6. @Prax: There’s a one page Creeper story and a one page Plastic Man story that weren’t in the issues and sketches.

  7. its only $31 on Amazon so thats a bit better on the pocketbook.

Does anyone know what kind of paper its printed on? Is it the same newsprint as the single issues?

  8. I got a copy from DC this week because I’m doing a story about it. It’s a big, heavyweight book. It’s expensive, but if you dig this experiment at all, it’s very worth it.

  9. @conor: I will kiss you if you’re telling the truth about Plastic Man being in this. Please someone has to tell me who is doing the story/art for it.

Don’t like to double dip but…..My issues are getting quite worn. Might need a new copy down the line.

  10. From DC’s blog earlier this year:

Not only does the collection feature two previously unpublished pages — one starring The Creeper (written by Keith Giffen with art by Eric Canete) and one starring Plastic Man (written by Evan Dorkin with art by Stephen DeStefano) — it also sports a can’t-miss collection includes a 10-page sketchbook section with art from each illustrator, plus an intro by series editor Mark Chiarello.

  11. I’ll definately be perusing this at a Borders/Barns and Nobles wishing and hoping to someday get around to buying it.

  12. Well Evan Dorkin is known for his ‘Milk and Cheese’ series. So if it’s as funny as that, then he might be good for Plastic Man.

    Never heard of DeStefano though.

  13. I just picked up my copy from my LCS.  It’s big (11" X 17") and gorgeous!  I can’t wait to revisit all of these wonderful strips.

  14. I’m really really really glad they went for the nice art book paper so it’ll last on my shelf for quite a while. The price was a bit too steep to buy at my LCS though.

  15. I’m thrilled to have purchased a book too big for my shelf. *grumbles*

  16. Who here would buy Wednesday Comics Volume 2 in its weekly form again now that you know what the  collected edition would look like?  In other words, how many people would trade wait?

I, for one, would buy both the weekly and the hardcover because they are completely different experiences and I want to support this project.

  17. I’m so there. Like a fly on sh… .

  18. wow. this book is pretty awesome once you get a copy in your hands.  I actually like my art books to be oversized….even though its a pain to move.

@ vinh. welcome to the world of art book collecting =)

  19. This is gorgeous, only just got it from my LCS, reminds me of my old Marvel giant-size "Sperman vs Spiderman" and the Star wars ones….RECOMMENDED

  20. so BIG, so BEAUTIFULL!
