Movie Review: CHRONICLE (Spoiler Free)
February 6, 2012 4:15 pm One thing of note in this film, as opposed to otger found footage style films, is the extensive effort to humanize the 3 main characters. Though I have enjoyed other films of this style on occasion, this one featured likeable, but human, characters with motivations I understood and empathized with. I liked those boys and I found myself dreading the moment when the conflict would begin. I found the film very rewarding and emotionally mature. I would give it 4 stars.

Ron’s List of the Worst Things in Comics in 2011
January 5, 2012 10:04 pm I value every opinion, I just feel as though this is deeply reactionary thinking. Some women are vacuous, some of those women are highly sexual. Those kinds of women exist and there could been fun stories in how they go about doing good deeds. There may been good stories in her redeeming herself to a more contemporary sense of ethics. It may been that help alien culture is kind of sexy and there are fun stories in her conflict there. She's always been one of them more sexualized characters in comics. That said, I cannot speak to that book as I have not read it. All I am saying is that one should not look for role models in fiction. Look for them in your really life. Characters are archetypes intended to entertained, educate and amuse... That means they will sometimes down things we find odd, vulgar or annoying. Its all to try and make and interesting story.

iFanboy’s Best of 2011: The Best Comic Writers of 2011
January 5, 2012 2:34 pm While I don't disagree with Snyder being #1, Remender should be 1b. Both for the quality and quantity of work. Help released around 35 excellent issues this year. Almost 3 years of material and not a single dude. Snyder was similarly prolific in both quality and quantity... Easily the 2 best writers this year.

Best of 2011: Artist of the Year
January 5, 2012 2:26 pm Pretty good list. I am especially glad that Capullo got notice. Help has been doing great work since help was reinvigorated one Haunt. Ottley was missed, as mentioned above.
