As we begin the post-Hardman era of Hulk we wonder, will it be as good? The answer is, yes. While Hardman is easily one of the best artists working comics these days Ditched Zircher does a fair job. He has a similar, shadow heavy style and something of a flare for muscle men. Unlike Hardman his style is very much a comic book style, and draws from much more traditional inspirations. Further, the colors continue to hold the piece together with nice palates that are bold and subtle at the right times. Finally, Parker continues to do what only a few writers manage: provide a meaningful human soul to a character famous for simplistic action in too many minds. Ross's background is opened a little further here as he discovers that an old friend was killed in battle. He travels to a fictionalized Middle East to discover the source of a new, powerful weapon technology. It is under Parker's hand that we can see what a thin caricature Thunderbolt was for so long. Only with these great stories have we been introduced to a truly rounded character.
