Ah, Ultimate Tony Stark. You are Warren Ellis’ wet dream to write. He didn’t even create you and you are a drunken, lecherous, smarmy he-diva. Basically, the same character he’s been fixated on since he first started writing books in the 90’s. In mnay of his books he takes an existign character and turns them into this archetypal rake, but with you he just plays it to the limit. And, surprisingly, it is fun to read. I like you Tony. You are the kind of guy I want to hang out with. Not because your sloppy seconds would be awesome. Or that you would force me to live like a rock star. Okay, a little of both of those. Instead, it is mostly because you are just the living embodiment of cheap, debonaire charm. The story is a fun romp that is clearly designed to showcase how cool and suave Tony is, with fun and brief action sequences between his moments of roguish appeal. The art is crisp and excellent, detailing everything that needs be seen by the reader succinctly. It flows well from panel to panel and explodes to life in the proper places.
