Do you know how I knew when this issue was amazing? When I wanted an entire book (or a mini series at least) dedicated to what was, essentially, a throw away character and his friends. I doubt we will see the Boxers again in any meaningful capacity, and certianly no more than as plot specific characters, but they felt well formed and fully fleshed out. The Dark man's basic history is revealed in here and it is, surprisingly, simple compared to what I might have imagined. He is, however, no less creepy or intimidating as a living embodiment of fear. They do love some breaking of the fourth wall, though.
The art was fantastic and suited the tone of the story magnificently. It was epic, but human simultaneously. The scenes were dynamic and detailed in all the right ways. They gave me a real sense of time, scope and environment. And the Dark man was just creepy.
Art: 5 - Excellent
