A very interesting lead off issue for Winnick's series on Batman and Robin. A grim, but fun, story as Red Hood manuevers himself to a place where he can kill criminals most effectively: a prison. Batman is a bit slow on the uptake here. Red Hood specializes in killing criminals, putting him in prison with criminals is liek an all you can eat buffet. However, for the sake of enjoyment, we can overlook that bit of logical inconsistency. Naturally, at the end, he escapes and is on the lose again - creating trouble for teh batmen of the world. But who looses him? Are they angry furries? Teenage Mutant XXX? It should be interesting to find out.

The art in this issue is noteworthy for two reasons. First, the amazingly bright and eye-searing color pallette that beats you overt he head like a ravers on steroids. Second, it is wildly inconsistent. There are pages and panels that look fine and tell the story adequately, but there are panels that are at odd angles which end up being oddly drawn or out of proportionate space. Good mixes with bad to make this an, all in all,average visual experience.
