The good news is the same as the bad news here, folks. Let me go ahead and tell you the most important thing you need to know. This book feels a ton like an Image book from 1994. It has the same action feel, the same hurtling pacing, the same dirty hero feel and even very similar art design - based on paneling, angles and whatnot. It is modernized and definitely takes most of its writign queues from 2000's style comics, but you cannot escape the structural median that holds it together. The character of Haunt is actually a pair of characters, brothers who have been fused after one's death. One a priest and the other a government wetwork commando. Neither is particularly a good person as the priest is a whoring drunk and the black ops commando well, that speaks to itself. I enjoyed this book as a fine piece of bubblegum action. We are far from the meat of these characters, though, so do not assume it will continue to be eye candy with little development. My biggest complaint is that this character feels almost exactly like Spawn crossed with the Darkness. We all know there are few truly original ideas left to us, but there are, at this point, only a handful of differences between teh characters.
