Finally, we are taking the first step to the final chapter of the New Krypton saga. It has not been a perfect ride, but on the whole enjoyable. This last chapter starts off on a strong note with art that is more easily followed. Unlike the frenetic, non-standard layouts of the previous two mini-series this one relies on tried and true techniques regularly. This helps the pacing feel smoother; quick and eventful at points, slow and sinister in some of the interludes. The art really shines as the planet explodes with brilliance fading into gloom in the graveyard of the dead society.
The story is nice as well. This sets up a year or more of story telling as Superman and Kara deal with the fallout of failing their people. Zod becomes the front runner as leading villains for a while, giving the tired oldsters like Lex a rest for a while. Finally, it accomplishes the goal of whittling down the Kryptonians to a more manageable number. In three issues we will have some resolution the the event that is really getting ignored, in comparison to Brightest Day and Batman RIP. That is a pity because, in my opinion, it has been far superior and didn't and never required more than one book a month to understand.

Too much blur effect on the planet explosion. I get it. There is a lot of stuff flying around. But a two page spread shouldn’t deliberately look like it was misprinted.
Sorry, just needed to get that off my chest.
