Astonishing Wolfman is a really excellent solo hero book. The lead is engaging, fun and reminds me a little of the early Kyle Rayner days - an adult granted powers who is trying to figure out the crazy hero world. He faces the dangers of his own powers, the tricks of a man who may or may not be manipulating him - yet he needs in order to learn anything, and a regular life that is a growing shambles.

We find out what an elder brood is here and the idea that Wolfman should find him is offered, which I think will become very important some time. I continue to get the vibe that the vampire mentor is not on Wolfman's side and is using him. The Actioneers are hunting him for the death of their leader, even though we now know that the guy isn't dead but is being held prisoner. Capes Inc. is added as a potential outlet for Wolfman to solve his financial woes, but it would surely  lead to some interesting stories and complications. Lost of plot threads in this issue.

Art continues to be excellent. Love the deceptively simple, animation inspired work on this book. Bold, direct and full of nuance.
