Batman and Robin is an interesting series. The first arc of the series with Morrison and Quietly was an instant…

January 17, 2012 8:46 pm Just checked out the preview. It looks fun but definitely suffers from a lack of Chiang art.
January 17, 2012 10:37 am Not if he is only reading Ironman, which I assume is the case. No one reading Uncanny X-force, Bats, Wonder Woman, or Daredevil would call this the best superhero book being published. Maybe he is reading Fraction's Thor.
January 17, 2012 10:31 am or because there hasn't been a bad issue of the entire series, since Remender took over.
January 12, 2012 9:45 pm That page is absolute crazy business. I wasn't planning on picking up the issue but now I keep looking over at my Ipad.
January 4, 2012 7:51 pm I agree with the rest of the comments, you should really go back and start at issue #1. If you really are opposed to starting at the beginning issue #19 is the best place to start going forward, as it is the first issue of the new arc, then skip to issue #20
December 12, 2011 10:45 pm Excellent choice. Jimmy is real police. Jimmy is the only cop mentioned in the comments that can work a case.
December 3, 2011 12:18 pm I love the new direction of this title. Hickman's essentially writing a sci-fi version of the Runaways. It's a perfect title for readers that enjoy teen oriented titles (Teen Titans, Avengers Academy, Runaways, New Mutants) or just fun titles full of comic booky ideas. It's also a great title for young readers, without talking down to kids, and it's in the main Marvel continuity unlike most of the young reader friendly titles. I applaud Hickman for writing two FF titles with completely different tones. Those that want the original FF with a more serious tone and realistic art can check out Fantastic Four and those who enjoy the "new class," want a lighter tone, and don't mind cartoony art can read FF. Hickman is turning the Fantastic Four into it's own mini-Universe like the X-titles. I do agree that the art feels rushed and sloppy here, but the cartoony style is perfect for the tone and direction of this title. I love Epting but a realistic art style wouldn't work with the current tone of this title.
December 2, 2011 4:17 pm Bio-gators!!!!! Awesome. Biggest surprise of the relaunch. I usually shy away from titles with an old school art style but this title is a blast and absolutely fantastic.
November 23, 2011 9:00 am Double shipping is a smart business move but I hate it because it hurts artistic consistency. Yes, if a reader is digging Secret Avengers he will pick up both issues in a double ship month but most likely would not add another book to his pull-list if the Secret Avengers only shipped one issue. Double shipping is a sneaky way to get readers to double their pull list, so I can see why Marvel keeps doing it. Unfortunately, double shipping means an artist cannot draw every issue of a title as seen with Hardman on Hulk or Opena on Uncanny X-force, which hurts the overall artistic quality of the title. The $3.99 price tag of titles such as Secret Avengers also hurts, especially when it's coupled with double shipping. In Feb for the same price I can either buy Secret Avengers or the January issues of GL, Wonder Woman, Batman and Animal man digitally. Something is wrong with that equation.
November 23, 2011 8:49 am Yes DC change the title to Night Force, sell less copies, and then promptly cancel the title because of inadequate sales. The title of this comic, as goofy as it is, gives this comic a chance to succeed because of the power of the JL branding. Marvel uses the Avengers brand in the same way. Why not enjoy the content on the inside and recognize that the title isn't for you but to encourage others to give the title a chance.
