Solid issue that is perfect for someone reading this book every month. Even though this issue is part 2 of a 4 issue arc, the issue itself is a nice read. Brubaker really is the master at stories that are told with a slow burn because even though I want to know what happens next, I am still satisfied with this issue and don’t feel like nothing important happened. Not really a great issue for someone that wants a self contained story or is picking up the book for the first time. One major complaint with this book. I don’t care about Nomad. I don’t care about her at all. Making me pay an extra dollar for her story is really bugging me. Give me a short story about the 50’s cap, give me a WWII Bucky story, or even a story about Steve Rogers sitting on his couch but god please stop charging me for Nomad. Im not going to take off any points for this back-up because I liked the main story but come on Marvel stop screwing the small number of people that actually read comics.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good

Comments

  1. 1. I agree – Nomad sux.

    2. The slow burn seemed a bit too slow this month, but the writing was excellent as usual.

    3. I actually thought Luke Ross brought his A game to this issue.

  2. Agreed Ross did some good work but I miss Epting on this book. I rarely give anything a 5 so a 3 for the art is a pretty solid score.

  3. Nice review.  I actually didn’t buy this issue as I’m not super interested in 50’s Cap.  I’ll probably come back for the next storyline.  Is the cover as ugly in real life as it looks on the screen.  Ugh.
