Brubaker is currently the best writer in comics because he is truly a master storyteller. Most writers either excel at writing enjoyable single issues or writing arcs that are far greater than their individual parts. Unbelievable Brubaker does both. Specifically, every issue of Captain American is a satisfying read that never feels like filler. But more importantly at the end of each arc I realize that Brubaker structured the story in a way that makes a larger comment on the character and society as a whole. Now on to this individual issue. In Captain American 604, Brubaker does something that isn't always popular with the masses, he focuses on the side kick instead of the title character, and Im glad he did. If you like the Flacon then this issue is for you because the Falcon definitely steals the show and Brubaker shows how cool this character actually is. Without his wings, Flacon takes down a whole train of Watchdog solders. How? Well, apparently Cap. taught him how to kick ass and take names and thats exactly what he does here. There is also a great moment between Sam and the train conductor that shows that Brubaker is not using the Watchdogs to criticize those on the right but to comment on how fanatics on either side are dangerous. Bucky's actions in this issue are also great because they further solidify the relationship between him and Sam, while also showing how crazy Fake Cap. is. I know there are some that are down on this series but with all the events, cross overs, and tie-ins going on, this self contained Cap. story really hits the spot for me.
