IthoSapien

Name: Josh

Bio: I go by IthoSapien, or Itho for short. I've been collecting comics since I was 13 and I've been at it ever since with a few brief periods of stopping. Recently, I've committed myself to buying mostly DC with some IDW, Dark Horse, and Image thrown in for variety. I'm a big Sci-Fi guy, but I love comedy and adventure stuff too. I like to mix things up every now and then. My all-time favorite series is Hellboy. My favorite character right now is the Flash. That stuff may change in a few years. In short: I love comics, and I like to have fun. I'm also an aspiring comics writer/artist. Hopefully soon I'll have some stuff to show if anyone's interested.

Enjoyable issue as always. If you’ve stuck withthe the series this long, you shouldn’t be disappointed. Although to get the…

August 29, 2013 6:41 pm Marvel and Joss Whedon (to the best of my recent knowledge) are saying Thanos and Loki WON'T be in Avengers 2. So the casting of Thanos is moot (for now).
August 29, 2013 1:37 pm "And Marvel Studios continues it’s trend of actually having its shit together when it comes to casting." Yet it's the the time and place to complain about DC's casting choices which mysteriously started a week ago? Quid por Quo, man. Both sides gotta let it go if we wanna move forward.

August 29, 2013 1:16 pm I noticed most of the Ifanboy staff averaged 3 Marvel titles each, with Jim having the most (4,ironic). Surprised 3 or 4 of the rest had no Marvel titles tho. My top five RIGHT NOW: The Flash Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Green Lantern Animal Man (NOBODY ON THIS ON THEIR LIST?!!! ((which I mostly skimmed Trillium I'd put Nowhere Men in place of Trillium but I can't remember WHEN the last issue of NM came out. Honorable mentions to Waid's DD (not currently buying, but reading in TPBs at the library), Larfleeze, Snyder's Batman (which I'm taking a sabbatical from, but I'm sure it's as good as ever), Batman/Superman, and Quantum and Woody.
August 29, 2013 1:04 pm I can't consider Nowhere Men in my top 5, even though I love it so much. When DID the last issue come out, 3-5 months ago? HIH. Y'know for such a relaxed and down to Earth guy, HB spends alot of time traveling and fighting. Yet Mignola is always taking these breaks. Ironic in a way, but I love them both.
August 29, 2013 1:00 pm I've been with it since the beginning, ongoing, Annual, and the Micro issues, and Secret of the Foot. Expensive stuff to follow just one series.

August 29, 2013 12:53 pm @JokersNuts, you say the New 52 was an editorial mandate. Do you know why? What the purpose was behind it, or what brought on the decision (besides low sales and all the other stuff we've all heard already from DC)? I'm being sincere, I would like to know if you have any more information. @Deepspacesamurai, I agree with your sentiment. I don't feel like DC and Marvel are really doing much in the way of new villains and barely fresh storylines. I mean I'm still enjoying my DC books but still; this is still the NEW 52 right? That said, DC has used new villains already in their various series; the Trench creatures in Aquaman, the Court of Owls in Batman, Ex Nihelo and the Operators in Dial H, Mob Rule in the Flash, the Dollmaker in Detective Comics, just to name a few. I'm pretty sure alot of those villains are new.
August 29, 2013 12:44 pm @Phess1, that's what I was hoping you would say. Im gonna hold you to it, if and when Marvel pulls something similar. Which I don't think is too far off, how long did Marvel NOW! start after the New 52?
