Appa Polly Gies to Ghostmann, Batmanuel, and godzilla; not sure I can keep up or add anything to their already excellant reviews.

This book is awesome, one of Lemire’s best IMHO. This shouldve been POTW because I doubt anything else was this fresh and interesting. Lemire set up quite a standard to meet for 7 more issues, hope he can make it (he can).

I didn’t love Sweet Tooth, because I felt Lemire’s art didn’t match the tone. Not so here, he’s grown as an artist. Really well.

Buy this, you won;t be sorry.

  1. are the succeeding issues going to be flip books as well?

    • Unknown. I’m gonna say maybe, probably not. Lemire hasn’t said otherwise, and the next 2 covers are traditional, no double covers. I should have mentioned in my review how great the Flip-book effect was for the story.

    • You know I was wondering the same thing – now that Nika and William have met how can we have two different stories / sides to the comic, which sucks cause it really was a cool idea

    • My thoughts exactly, @ghostmann. Which bums me out, because that’s part of what I loved so much with the first issue. I’m guessing the rest will “regular issues” and then maybe the last one will be another flip book. Unless they separate in the second one or introduce more characters I don’t see the flip effect coming back.
