I loved this issue, loved it. I don’t know how people can keep hating on this book. I’ve read Flash in the 60s, the 80s, the 90s, the 00s, and let me tell you; this is the Flash. I haven’t enjoyed Flash since before Rebirth, but this and Nowhere Men have become the 2 books I look forward to each month.

This issue shows the Flash helping to rebuild the Twin Cities after the “Ape-ocalypse”, and moving forward with his life. The artist, Marcio Takara, does well at imitating Manapul’s style. There’s also some great previous plot threads coming together here. We also get to see Flash show more of his forensic scientist side, trying to solve the crime the Trickster is accused of. Speaking of, I’m pretty sure that the haircut everybody is complaining about is actually partially based on Mark Hamill’s portrayal in the Flash tv series.

There is the appreance of a new group, the Outlanders. They were in the background of issues 3 and 4 I think, and they play a more prominant role here moving the plot forward. That might put some people off, these guys just bursting onto the scene here.

So far tho, I loved all the different angles that were in this story; Barry moving forward with his life, the Flash solving a crime like a scientist, helping the average citizens of the Twin Cities, the impending conflict of the Outlanders and Central City, plus the focus on the Trickster, it was just a good time for me. If you’re loving the previous issues so far, you should love this one right away.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
