It seems The Flash is entering cool down mode as this issue is more about detective Flash than crime fighting Flash. First I wanna discuss the art, which is drawn by Marcio Takara. It helps that Brian Buccellato does the colors (he also does the script but we’ll get to that later) but when everyone is just tallking the pencils just seems a bit lack luster. Trickster’s hair annoys me, but I guess he is supposed to be a annoying character. When the costumes come on the visuals pick up a bit more. Now apparently Trickster has been framed and is arrested. Then his “family” threatens that if he’s not released there’s gonna be consequences. I have no idea who the Outlander Nation are and so I don’t care about anything they say or do. Also after being in the Speed Force for so long two of the people Flash rescued have now gain powers. What are those powers you ask? I have no clue. I think I has super strength and perhaps super speed? The other guy is hovering around on a scooter that maybe he invented? Of course they screw up and Flash has to step in and give a hypocritical speech of what being a hero is. I give writing credit for one of the characters actually calling out Flash for being a new hero himself and how he’s not a pro. I also like that this issue answered a question I’ve been asking myself, “Does Barry use his powers while not in costume?” But other than that this issue bored me. Maybe it had something to do with Francis Manapul’s name not being on the cover.
