  1. I agree with your disappointment. There was no mention of Robin’s death in here, even though DC printed two different covers with references to the event that occurred elsewhere. For me, this smacks of corporate greed. This reeks of Treating-Your-Customers-Like-Suckers. Anyone who bought both covers of Batman #18 are part of the problem, not the solution.

  2. “I’ve yet to see what exactly everyone has fallen in love over Harper Row for.”

Well, to be honest I’ve never actually seen much love for her online. It’s totally manufactured. The solicit calls her a “fan favorite” but there’s no evidence of that. I liked issue #12 alright, but that doesn’t mean she’s some kind of breakout success.

As usual with this entire run, there’s a push to make the actual content suggest a lot more than is actually on the pages. It’s just nauseating. Witness how every comic site on the internet has done interviews with Snyder over the last few days. The effort is being put into marketing, not content.

Good catch that Harper Row, in terms of how she appeared, seemed quite like the prostitute in Morrison’s run. I noticed that as well, the first time she appeared (actually, much of the Owls saga read like a mix of the first few years of Morrison’s run, though few readers seemed to notice). I guarantee you Snyder doesn’t even realize the similarity. Nor does he realize the similarities between Harper and Spoiler. Who can blame the guy, though. When half the paid reviewers are falling over themselves to give him five stars every month, why bother doing work that’s actually original?
