July 19, 2013 1:51 am I finally got around to reading this issue and HOLY CRAP! There's some big stuff going on here! It's like all bets are off, anything is fair game, no character is "safe". I wonder if this is the beginning of the end of the Ultimates comic universe.
July 18, 2013 11:08 pm The Dark Knight films were cool, but they were by no means the yardstick by which to measure all other films. We are fortunate in the fact that there are a wide variety of equally awesome approaches to take when making a comic film. I liked The Dark Knight, I loved the Avengers, and the films are about as different as night and day. I know that there are folks who like this incarnation of Spider-Man, and that's cool. It's good that comic-based characters are still hot properties. It means that more comic-based films will be made. With that being said, I just didn't like the Garfield version of Peter Parker in the first new Spider-Man flick. I kept finding myself comparing the film to the first two Raimi Spider-Man films, which I loved. Maybe it's a generational thing or something, but Maguire is the definitive Movie Spider-Man to me. I'm not knocking Garfield's acting ability. The guy seemed to do a great job with the script he was given. I just didn't like the way the character was written in The Amazing Spider-Man. I didn't feel the connection with the film that I do with the Raimi movies. I'm pretty sure that I'll check the new film out. After all, it's a freakin' Superhero movie, so I have to at least give it a chance. I don't have high hopes, but who knows; it might swing me over into the Garfield camp. Re. Electro: I actually have no issues with how the character will apparently be portrayed in the film. ANYTHING is better than a skinny dude in neon-yellow spandex and a bunch of lightning bolts sticking out of his head. Seriously; the comic Electro costume is something I do NOT want to see in a live-action movie.
July 18, 2013 9:49 pm I have absolutely no love for the first Garfield Spider-Man movie. Looks like the no-love streak is gonna continue.
July 18, 2013 9:44 pm I'm enjoying both books. Both are well-written, and the differences in tone make each series compliment the other. The titles remind me of the feel I got from Uncanny X-Force and Wolverine and the X-Men before Marvel: Now.
July 12, 2013 2:28 pm That's interesting looking, but why Lego?
July 10, 2013 3:25 pm That's a damn sweet cover. :) I look forward to reading this. I'm beside myself with glee at how great most of the X-Books are right now.
July 10, 2013 8:59 am Dude; your comic shop opens EARLY. :)
July 2, 2013 10:37 pm This was one of the most interesting new books I've read in the last few months. I look forward to seeing where this story goes.
July 1, 2013 2:43 pm This week looks like the opposite of last. Just one book so far: Avengers.
