Another great entry in a series that just keeps on BRINGING IT! I’m tempted to copy and paste my review of the last issue, because everything that has been awesome for the past 6 issues continues to be awesome here.

The tension between the players in this game is electric, and the pieces to the puzzle started way back with the launch of the main Avengers book continue to be slammed down by Hickman with unparallelled flair.

The art is consistently excellent. With each expertly crafted, cinematic panel, Mike Deodato further solidifies his place as one of my favorite current artists.

The pacing, as always, is outstanding. Not too long ago, another reviewer rightly pointed out how overused the phrase “Slow-Burn” has become, so I’ll just say this: Reading this book is like watching the the mother of all storms slowly rolling in. With each issue, the sky gets a little more overcast, and the wind gets a little colder.

I think I hear thunder rumbling in the distance, and it’s getting closer.
