BEAUTIFUL! I loved how Remender picked up the issue raised with Alex’s speech and dissected it with Rogue and Wanda’s debate. In fact, this book epitomizes what I love most about comics: Interesting and relevant character interaction.

Despite my feelings about some of the characters he writes, I tip my hat to Remender for making those characters feel REAL. The Rogue & Wanda debate drives home the fact that no one has a monopoly on “The Correct Point Of View”, and actually made me reexamine my own initial response to Alex’s “Don’t call me Mutant” speech. I appreciate the fact that Remender is able to approach the issue from both two different angles, and write convincing arguments from both.

The great character work isn’t limited to Rogue and Wanda this issue either. The Apocalypse Twins, Wolverine, Cap, Simon, and even Hank get their moment to shine. With Uncanny Avengers, we’re given what feels like the most volatile combination of characters I’ve come across in a long time. Sparks are flying, and it’s a beautiful thing to behold.

The art was the weakest part of this book. It’s serviceable, but nothing to write home about. Still, I’ll take Great Story & Serviceable Art over Cassa-delays every time.

This was my Pick Of The Week.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 3 - Good
