Beautiful issue! Once again, Bendis demonstrates how powerful a story telling tool the time displaced X-Men can be. I’m not sure what kind of impact this series would have on someone new to the world of Marvel’s mutants, but as a long-time X-Men fan, each issue strikes a strong emotional chord with me. The interactions between the members of Yesterday’s Team and the modern-day mutants alternates between humorous and bittersweet, and even manages at times to be genuinely frightening.

Stuart Immonen’s art is dazzling. Not only has he mastered the look of each character, the guy has a gift for choosing dynamic angles and poses that make each page feel alive.

I don’t know how much staying power the time-displaced angle will have, but so far, it feels like it has enough momentum to be around for a long time to come.
