Superior Spider-Man is AWESOME. We comic fans can’t help but know the story of who Spider-Man is and what makes him tick, simply through osmosis. Personally, I think he’s a great character, but I’ve never been interested in following any Spider-Title. Until now.

Superior Spider-Man is actually pretty fun. The Doc-Swap has set up some incredible moments, ranging from laugh-out-loud funny to jaw-droppingly shocking.

I went into this Event thinking “meh; whatever”. With this issue, my mind is made up: This title has been added to my monthly pull list.

BONUS: The feedback on the letters page is effing awesome.

  1. Also: “Spider-Signal” FTW.

  2. Yeah, I rarely read the letters pages but these have been way entertaining! These guys who are heartbroken because their hero who’s been fighting evil geniuses for 50 years finally lost to one of them. I always thought that Peter’s draw was his relatability but someone who never loses is not very relatable.

I also expected an “evil spiderman” story but this uneasy struggle for redemption is a lot more rare and interesting (in my opinion).
