November 28, 2011 12:06 pm What?!?! A new writer?!?! Seriously?!?! This was my surprise hit of the relaunch and that this week made it to my Pick of the Week. I had no interest in this book when announced but I loved the story and the art. It is the series I now find myself constantly asking, what could possibly be next and not having any idea and loving it. What a bummer. I love this book and going to continue to pick it up even with a writer change, but going to give it one issue with the new writer.
November 21, 2011 12:50 pm Why is Jubilee not on this list? J/k And the biggest blood sucker of them all... MARVEL comics. They are constantly sucking the life blood out of comic readers on a weekly basis. J/K, again, sorta. I still buy them, makes me a sucker! (Yes, I am aware of all the awful puns I am making here) But, this is a great list and really dig Vampirella on this list. She is one of those legacy characters who has a rich history and an interesting move from a magazine like book into a comic book. Also, one of those characters which so many greats have written like Morrison, Millar, and Ellis. Also, some great pin up work is done by artists on her as well. She is an icon!
November 19, 2011 12:25 am This may have been my favorite weekly sketch up EVER! Too much to nerd out over, even on this site!
November 19, 2011 12:23 am I bought the Northlanders book based on the cover alone. I know it is ending and in the middle of the arc but there was no way I could not buy the issue based on that incredible cover. Also, I bought Invincible in the single issue too because of the cover. Although I am trade reader for Invincible, I felt like this issue was going to be haunting or a big change.
September 14, 2011 10:57 pm THIS WAS CRAZY! I am just so glad DC is taking bold directions with books. Still not sure what exactly I read, but I know this is going to be such a different book and totally refreshing. TOTALLY IN!
September 14, 2011 5:21 pm I am giving almost the new titles a chance. The only arc I enjoyed in the previous volume of Batman and Robin was the Winick run with the Red Hood. Nor am I huge Batman fan... But this book seemed a little forced with the dialogue, but still pretty good. Felt like it was necessary and caught everyone up to speed and set the stage. This is something different than I am used to reading, and I am going to stick with it for the next couple issues and see if the magic wears off. After reading this book, I totally think I was too kind to Daniel's Detective.
September 14, 2011 5:08 pm Eric Wallace failed me to keep me on Titans and he was writing one of my favorite characters in that book. Give him a character that I truly do not care about, and this is my first official one and completely done. And... I even enjoyed Hawk and Dove. There simply was no, WOW factor. Dialogue was terrible and art was average. Just not what I am looking for.
September 14, 2011 4:52 pm No Axe Cop or Super Dinosaur?
September 8, 2011 11:42 pm This week must have been one of the hardest weeks to pick the panels! It seems every DC #1 had that oh snap moment! Also thought some of the full page panels in Stormwatch were gorgeous. Think the creepiest panel of the week definitely goes to the last page reveal in Red Skull: Incarnate #3. Saw it coming but... gave me chills!
September 8, 2011 11:34 pm Not the strongest issue of the bunch so far, but the last page was so creepy that it gave me chills.
