March 12, 2013 7:15 pm This article is full of statements and ideas that make me want to pretend DC closed its doors as a publisher back in '11. I'm now ready to drop 99% of what little DC I DO read. Fortunately, Batman, Inc. is in its own world and Batman & Robin hasn't pissed me off yet, so DC will be making at LEAST $7-$8 a month from me, but who knows how long that will last.
February 28, 2013 12:51 pm @markavo- Grant Morrison has stated in interviews that Damian's death was intended from the start. It still sucks, 'cause I thought Damian was great (especially with Dick as Batman), but it's a relief to know Damian wasn't killed for sales purposes, or because DC wants to "clean house" with the Bat-books.
February 25, 2013 7:03 pm @BronxRonin--Bingo. Why did that not occur to me sooner?
February 15, 2013 4:59 am @Jeremy Carrier - I concur. @JohnVFerrigno - I disagree.
February 9, 2013 2:59 am DC reminds me of an old childhood friend you used to love, until they started taking methamphetamine and ruined their lives. You have great memories, and you're still curious as to what and how they're doing, but you know the truth: every time you look back and wonder what happened to them, you see the wreck they've become and you feel a little less sorry for their current state. It also gets easier to walk away and not look back, since they keep making dumb, drug-addled decisions. Maybe one day they'll get clean, but you don't hold your breath. Or am I just being dramatic?
February 7, 2013 5:34 am Being that I've sworn off of just about all of DC's "New52", I was super-stoked when I discovered the Legends of the Dark Knight digital comics. I was even more excited when those stories turned out to be really good. Now you're saying Superman's getting the same treatment? And look at those creators. I have very high hopes for this book, and I think it'll be the perfect companion piece to LOTDK.
January 24, 2013 12:41 pm @Conor= For someone who might not know the intimate ins-and-outs of the comic creating process, it might seem weird (or odd, or what have you) that one artist gets to draw the fun stuff, while the other artist gets to draw scenery.
January 11, 2013 5:48 am Jim Aparo. Who by no means is my favorite, his art always looked stiff to me. But when I started reading comics around age 9-10, his art was in the first Bat-books I'd ever seen. That sort of thing sticks with you. Also, growing up, it seemed his version of Batman was on every SINGLE piece of Bat-merchandise I ever came across, from balloons to party favors to lunch boxes and everything inbetween. There are definity versions of Batman I would take any day over Aparo's, but his is the version that instantly pops into my head when provoked.
December 20, 2012 9:28 pm I KNOW! "CASH4GOLD"? "SighBorg" is my favorite. It fits his current iteration perfectly. Also, Firestorm having a hotmail account=perfection.
