April 10, 2012 10:10 pm @RileyArmpit32 if his stuff is outdated and not what people want, why did DC just hand him three tittles to oversee? please answer that for me if you can. The fact is that Liefeld, being the polarizing figure he is, gets a lot of hate for the same reasons people are always harsh about an artist...he doesn't draw like JIm Lee, or Jack Kirby or whoever. The fact is the man comes in and say what you want, brings a ton of energy into every tittle he works on. Love him or hate him (as the majority seems to enjoy) the guy still has something to say in the industry as both a writer and artist. You have the final say so by not purchasing the books, and that's a more mature way to make this arguement than complain about his lack of drawing feet or HAWK-VERINE comment (which was funny)
April 2, 2012 9:25 pm Liefeld is a guilty pleasure for me, bad anatomy and non existant storytelling and all.... I met him at Heroescon a couple of years ago and he was a nice guy. I won't follow him to a book I don't read, but if he shows up on one I do read I am far from disgusted
March 27, 2012 12:09 pm Of all the books in the new 52 this series has been the biggest suprise to me. As a long time Jonah Hex fan (since 1977) seeing him in a book that is not only selling but be enjoyable too makes my heart jump for joy!
March 22, 2012 12:55 pm I love the fact The Walking Dead on AMC is bringing people into the "graphic novel" section and they are discovering other things while looking.
March 22, 2012 12:50 pm While nice to look at, the main story isn’t grabbing me like I hoped it would. Johns shows he has a lot of knowledge and love for the old DC universe, but thanks to his ruthless annihilation of the DCU with Flashpoint, that universe is no more. Now we get Superman in an ugly costume, younger looking more hip core characters and a sense of “what the hell is going on here” headscratching that is spreading thru the books like wildfire. This book continues to swing up and down in quality and the entertainment value is on life support. There are a couple of good scenes here and there, and Cyborg gets a moment to shine, but over all the series continues it’s slide to oblivion. The Shazam backup by Johns and Gary Frank was very good though. I don’t know how I am going to handle a “darker/gritier” Shazam in my future, but it was the only thing I was excited about after reading this book.
March 19, 2012 3:50 pm I like what I see so far and am looking forward to taking a look at this. We can never have enough good comic based stuff on TV
March 14, 2012 11:15 pm I agree, that run was pretty damn good and still reads well today
March 14, 2012 10:30 pm This book continues to underwhelm me. I have been a huge Deathstroke fan since my first experience wth him in New Teen Titans lo those many years ago. Higgins script just isn't grabbing me and the art is all over the place. I am also not a fan of the new costume, it doesn't grab me. Most of the new DC books read like the newest video game to me and this title is the biggest offender
March 9, 2012 5:18 pm let's hope so, that's the strength of this character, not being the Tony Stark of the New 52...
