Xeno

Name: Jan Mangubat

Bio: My name is Xeno. In the real world, I go by the name Jan. I'm a law student, a Filipino and comic book fan and collector. I loved reading comics and started at the young age of 4. I only got comic books as gifts though and I had no money to buy it for myself back then, so I just got to read them occasionally. My passion for this very special art form didn't waiver though as I bought comics here and there during high school and intermittently during college. But after I graduated from college in 2009, I began collecting comic books full time. I was looking for back issues of Batman: Knightfall, and happened upon Batman: Battle for the Cowl, found it interesting, and gave it a try. I got hooked since then. I also love to draw (I would like to believe that I have above average skills) ever since I was young which probably contributed to my love for comics. I'm also interested in TV shows and movies. Philippines represent! Favorite Comic Book Character: Batman and Spider-man Favorite Comic Book: Y: the last man Favorite Comic Book Writer: Geoff Johns Favorite Comic Book Artist: Ethan Van Sciver Favorite Comic Book Publisher: Marvel and DC Comic book quirk: I only buy Marvel and DC in issues. I don't want TPBs and HCs, except its a creator owned comic book that's hard to find like the past Vertigo titles, like Y: the last man. If a non Marvel or DC comics is really good, I'd buy it, but only in HC, like The Walking Dead.

April 11, 2012 10:00 pm Here in the Philippines, it's showing on the 25th, and we're half a day earlier than countries in the Western Hemisphere so that'll be like the 24th for you. Hehe =p
April 4, 2012 11:01 am Damn, that clip makes me so pumped up for the movie. I'm so happy to discover that The Avengers would be shown in theaters here in our country 9 days in advance of the North American premiere! One of the very few times that living in the Philippines is an advantage when it comes to American movies, hehe..
March 12, 2012 12:22 pm Right?! I totally thought the same thing! Good to know I wasn't alone in thinking that.
January 27, 2012 12:00 pm Chris Samnee is a great artist and all, one of my faves for sure, but I think Jamie McKelvie would have been a better fit for Ultimate Spider-man as a fill-in artist for Sara Pichelli. I mean look at that Miles Morales Spider-man. It's almost as good as Sara Pichelli's!
January 6, 2012 11:19 am Nailed no. 1! Yes, yes, a thousand yes!
January 6, 2012 8:54 am I'm really disappointed with the art on this one. I'd rather wait a month for Sara Pichelli's full art than to get this David Messina finishes, ugh! The story is great but it would have been better to have great art too all throughout.
August 27, 2011 2:13 pm Good timing indeed! I just finished watching the vid on youtube right before this news hit the site. Looks like Ifanboy has got a lil' Nostradamus in ya!

August 12, 2011 12:41 pm The process of making that Silver Surfer art is phenomenal! Also, that WWII Wolverine has got to be one of the best ever sketch featured in this column! Everything else also looks great! This is really one of the best batch of sketches so far!(at least in my opinion)
