I’ve never liked Lex Luthor more than I do now. Paul Cornell’s characterization of Lex is really great as he nails what in my mind are the actions Lex would take in a given situation. The selling point really for me to buy this book was Lex’s quest to get a power ring but I’m surprised to love it based on some other reason. Deathstroke is off no value in the issue though as he’s used as a chump to battle Lex. Paul Cornell is killing it in this book though and it’s promising to be a legendary run on Action Comics. Art is also not bad. Pete Woods is delivering a clean looking art that I think is a welcome break from other art with too defined muscles on characters. Add a superb Superboy back-up by Jeff Lemire and Pier Gallo, and it makes this issue a must buy.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
