May 13, 2009 7:35 pm An interesting start. I think this is some intelligent writing, but this first issue suffered a little bit from having not much intelligible happening. What we have here is not really a story exactly, but the beginnings of a situation. I do plan on picking up the next issue.
May 7, 2009 4:42 pm I'll accept a Marvel Zombies 5. I don't mean to say I wouldn't buy it. But what is great about this series and the last is not the zombie angle, it's the cool c-list characters plus horror plus speed and unpredictability angle. And I'd rather have that stuff not connected to this gimmick that we've probably had too much of. But if they want to do another one of these things, I'm sure Van Lente can make it something good.

@Jumping Jupiter *puts on nerd hat* I believe the Gorilla you mistook for Grodd is in fact King Nnamdi *takes nerd hat off* *nerd hat does not actually come off, as it is permanently affixed to nerd head*

May 7, 2009 12:31 am as hard as it is to admit this, this series is not really doing it for me. I loved the mini, but this lacks the magic. The characters aren't really interacting much (though it is great when they do) there isn't much of a feeling of mission, the story telling doesn't really pop. But I love these characters. I'm sad this isn't working for me. Maybe this will read better in trade. I don't know.

since no one has said it yet, I'll say it. this was a really good issue. I'm not sure if I want a Marvel Zombies 5, but If they'd get Van Lente to do a bunch more mini's not unlike these Marvel Zombie ones, and by that I mean, fast, intense, dark, and populated with awesome c listers, I'd be super happy. Also Kev Walker on art. Have that happen.

May 6, 2009 11:38 pm @PraxJarvin true, there is only a thematic tie there. but I hope Johns exploits that like he did in Blackest Night #0. Plus it looks like we're getting black lantern sam scudder, and we saw him in this issue, so it seems like there should be something there. At least I hope so.
May 6, 2009 6:18 pm I'm really enjoying Barry Allen and Hal Jordan together. It was one of the best things last issue, it absolutely made blackest night #0, and it was great in this issue as well. The two of them working like an oldtime cop partnership is awesome. I hope we see a lot more of it. It's a good counter-balance to Barry's seriousness, and I think it could really keep green lantern fresh after blackest night is over and done with. I wonder if what happened on the last page here will effect blackest night? I hope so.
April 30, 2009 1:11 am This issue was totally bonkers. Reading this I was like "Oh, this is what you're going to do here? Fantastic!"
April 29, 2009 10:46 pm Every single issue of this has been pick of the week for me. It's not that it's that spectacular, but for some reason it  only comes out on weeks where everything else is not as good. At least to me.
