October 20, 2012 3:30 pm The bit with the Flash is from the scene where all the Justice League members are being called into action. I played the game for review on the site I write for so I am pretty damn familiar with it. And checking, all the cutscenes in the game add up to around 55 minutes worth of footage. So they really could basically just release those as a movie with maybe a few bits here and there added in to make things flow better. Which honestly would be pretty damn shameless but what can you do?
October 20, 2012 1:35 pm Uhhh... All of the footage in that trailer was literally taken from the cutscenes in Lego Batman 2. All of it. That is kind of ridiculous. Hopefully they will actually include new footage and this is just an early trailer (although looking at planned release window that seems unlikely). Otherwise boo on Warner Bros. for being cheap and exploitative.
July 29, 2012 12:16 am Oh but Connor, what are you talking about? Don't you know there have only ever been seven members of the Justice League and John wasn't one of them? That when they tried to have him on the team, that dirty martian messed it all up. The great and powerful Johns has spoken it so and thus it must be true. That little bit of bitterness aside, this is a great episode and having seen the rest of this season/series, I can say I think you will be very happy with the way the show uses old Vision. I agree he's a great character (though I probably have a stronger emotional connection to John) and the show really demonstrates why.
March 16, 2012 8:27 pm A lot of what I am reading here reminds me of the complaints about Brave and the Bold before it aired and we all know how that one turned out. And even then it took that show a season or so to really grow into its full potential. Honestly, I do think USM has a lot to live up to considering just remarkable of a show Spectacular was and while I do wish that one had gotten a longer run, I intend to fully give this incarnation a fair chance. The creatives involved alone are beyond impressive. Are there some moments in the trailer that look like they were designed to sell toys? Yes, but it is hard to fully judge something like that out of context. I also have no doubt that the "Power & Responsibility" angle will definitely play a role. If nothing else I love the inclusion of the other young heroes like Power Man, Iron Fist, Nova, and White Tiger since that is something that could really give the show a fun and truly distinct dynamic different from other TV incarnations of the webhead. If we have to have a new Spidey cartoon, why just repeat what has come before? Time will tell but I have my fingers crossed. I just wish it was the same Nick Fury and Iron Man from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cause that would be awesome.
February 7, 2012 3:47 am Positive: We finally seem to be getting the wisecracking Spidey of the comics. Negative: The 'Spidey without his mask' trope seems to be continuing. Why? How often does Bats take off his mask in his movies? Overall its a strong trailer that hints at potential for the movie as long as it can over one possible major hurdle: the CGI villain. And I am not one who automatically counts CGI being used as negative but something about the glimpses of the Lizard leaves me... disquieted. But that could just be me. Anyways, CGI can take longer than anything else in a film to finish and is fairly open to tinkering during post production. So fingers crossed.
January 24, 2012 3:39 pm I agree wholeheartedly with you sir. I am really looking forward to these and I expect both books to be a great deal of fun in the classic Marvel manner.
January 11, 2012 4:41 pm Cullen Bunn + Cap & Hawkeye fighting a bunch of dinosaurs = SOLD!OHMYGODTAKEMYMONEYALREADY! :)
January 6, 2012 3:54 pm Well if you are going to do something like Avengers vs X-men you may as well have fun with the thing. So on that basis, I approve of Versus. Marvel fully admits it is non-essential and just for fun, which sounds good to me.
October 17, 2011 3:53 pm Come on man, everybody knows that Jessica Fletcher is actually a super-villian in very clever disguise who goes around murdering all those other people and then framing others and then brainwashing them with her mental powers to think they actually did it. Its the only explanation that makes sense. Or would you have us believe that this little old woman just happens to stumble upon an unnecessarily complex murder case everywhere she goes on a weekly basis? I mean, that would just be silly. :)
October 14, 2011 7:14 pm I don't think it is Ben Reily. Based on recent issues of Amazing, I have my own guess but I not going to write it here for fear of spoiling others. By the way, Spider-Island is easily the best 616 Spider-Man story in at least ten years. Possibly even more.
