‘The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!’ – S02E14 – “Behold… The Vision!”

The Avengers’ version of Martian Manhunter finally appears. They are the outsider heart and souls of the their respective teams and I love them both.

Here’s how “Behold… The Vision!” is described:

Captain America, Thor, and Hawkeye travel to Wakanda to repair Captain America’s shield and persuade Black Panther to rejoin the team, but a mysterious caped figure named Vision arrives to steal the shield along with Wakanda’s supply of vibranium.

I look forward to your thoughts, opinions, gripes, live-blogging, etc.

  1. Oh but Connor, what are you talking about? Don’t you know there have only ever been seven members of the Justice League and John wasn’t one of them? That when they tried to have him on the team, that dirty martian messed it all up. The great and powerful Johns has spoken it so and thus it must be true.

That little bit of bitterness aside, this is a great episode and having seen the rest of this season/series, I can say I think you will be very happy with the way the show uses old Vision. I agree he’s a great character (though I probably have a stronger emotional connection to John) and the show really demonstrates why.

    • huh?

    • @Storyteller S.J.K.: I firmly believe the Manhunter has already made a ‘deal’ w/one [or two] of the charter members (I’m looking at you, Bruce [and Clark]). I bet there’s already a long goal set up for Earth. It’s just that most of the second and third tier members (and we) don’t know …yet.

And if Icon doesn’t show up soon [read: next 12 months], I’m gonna be REALLY disappointed.

      Just saying.

  2. The Shield is back!!!

  3. I love Vision and J’honn J’onzz and always seen Red Tornado as Visions DC counterpart, and maybe its just cause the humanoid thing but all 3 of these characters fill in that outsider role and do it well but in JL, that slot for Martian Manhunter has always been a revolving character, right now its Cyborg as it seemed like they wanted to bring him up a bit with him being a main player in Flashpoint and now he’s in the least of the heavies position on JL, its always been MM,Hawkman or Red Tornado for the most part it seems to me and even Green Arrow and Atom(Ray Palmer) fill that slot. Nothing against Cyborg but I’d rather see any of those characters in the JL right now, personally would’ve loved to see Red Tornado cause he’s underused and adds a that disconnected aspect that writers can use to their advantage.
