This is a great (old) take on Superman.

In what has to be a pretty daring move, Morrison and Morales take the Man of Steel back to something resembling his original 1938 debut, where he’s more street level, not nearly so powerful, and sometimes on the wrong side of the law. I’m sure we’ll get the Supes we know and love soon enough, but we’ll watch him get there.

Also, the issue’s pretty packed with action: definitely one of the more substantial books in the relaunch so far. Mostly, the pacing isn’t hard to follow, though there is a moment or two when it’s a little hard to connect some of the plot dots.

This will definitely be one to watch, at least for now.
