A very fun read for the start of a series. The scenes with Luthor leave you wondering what schemes he has planned and are probably the highlight of this issue. I’m looking forward to continuing this series and seeing how Morrison further develops what is currently a “new” Superman.

What I found to be the downside of this book is Rag Morales’ art. It was just plain ugly in my opinion and the way he drew some of the characters’ eyes was very distracting. I often see Morales described as a ‘fan favorite’ and other reviews of this book give his art high marks, but I just don’t agree. I hope his run on this book is a short one.
