Wow. All I can think of is wow. Morrison has made me like and care for Superman! He is over-confident, arrogant and has a strong sense of justice that would piss off most people has he has the power to do just so.

The incredulity of the cops when they come face to face with the Man of Steel for the first time is genuine and well played, especially when Superman pushes it and practically begs them to shoot him so he can show them just how bad ass he is and how helpless they are.

I also found the integration of Lex Luthor to be perfect for a first issue, we see a calculating man here, not yet obsessed by Superman, yet willing to stop him, no matter what has he’s a dangerous “parasite”.

Rags Morales’s art was very good also, detailed, fluid and full of “hmpf”, especially during the train sequence. I also like his depiction of Clark Kent, that kinda looks like a cross-eyed, 200 pounds Harry Potter.

Also, am I crazy or was there a reference to Stormwatch #1 when the landlady and Clark are talking and she mentions friends of his, two men and a blonde asking about him? If so, cool nod!

Action (duh it’s called ACTION comics for a reason!), drama, suspense and lots of cheering for the first superhero to come public. Bring me more!
