In one issue, Snyder manages to introduce Swamp Thing to new readers, firmly root the book in the DCU, and reveal a very creepy villain. On top of this, the art is simply gorgeous! Paquette does a superb job rendering both the mundane and the supernatural.

I knew nothing about Swamp Thing coming into this book, but I’m very interested in where Snyder will take the title! This was my second favorite book of the week right behind Animal Man.
