Awesome comic is awesome.

Out of the 3 #1 issues I’ve read so far (JLA, Batgirl, Swamp Thing), this is the one that did the best job at serving as an introduction to the character and hooking me into a story.

Snyder is only half the story, though. Despite my deep love of American Vampire, he wasn’t quite enough to convince me to pick up Swamp Thing because, well, it’s Swamp thing. When a few of Paquette’s preview images started surfacing, I decided to give the first issue a try.

Snyder and Paquette make an impressive team. I’m instantly invested in Alec’s story and a few panels related to the “monstrous evil” left me shuddering. Seriously. I don’t want to wait a month to find out what happens next.

Story: 5 - Excellent
