Scott Synder is at it again. Reading this issue, a feeling started growing in my gut. This was the same feeling i experienced while reading the first issue of his run on Detective comics. This was absolute certainty that the book was spot on. A story perfectly pure and true to the character.
Scott Synder boils down the purest elements from a characters rich history and presents them in a way that feels completely fresh yet classic.
Combined with Animal Man there just might be a very rich new corner of the DC universe being born. One that i feel has the potential to grow in the way that the Green Lantern books grew over the last couple of years.
Not to be lost in this i must say. This book achieves a rarity in comics. It is unsettling. I dont want to give anything away , so ill leave it at saying my dreams are going to be haunted tonight while i sleep with ear plugs in and misted in bug spray

Story: 5 - Excellent
