August 26, 2013 7:59 pm Most excited this week for Angel & Faith and Jericho...I swear I read comics that didn't start out as TV shows! Thinking about dropping Larfleeze, because my excitement over that book may have set me up to be too horribly disappointed by how meaningless and juvenile it has turned out to be so far... And that is an awesome bonus question. How about Veronica Mars interning at X-Factor Investigations over the summer? Peter David would write the hell out of that.
August 15, 2013 5:20 pm Thanks for this article! Kyle Rayner is my favorite GL, but I had no idea there was a BKV story out there about him! You definitely earned whatever % iFanboy gets from the Amazon link there :) I fell completely in love with Kyle based on Judd Winick's time writing him. The Power of Ion is one of my favorite character arcs in comics. The Superman scenes in particular are unforgettable moments.
June 14, 2013 1:05 pm I saw an early showing yesterday, and I give it a B. It's got some pretty significant flaws, but they don't overwhelm the film. Chief among those flaws, of course, is the shaky cam bullshit. Seriously, it's hackneyed, amateur hour crap, and it has no place in films that aren't Cloverfield. Just stop already. Also, Lois Lane was unrecognizable. Not remotely Lois-like in characterization. Warm, nurturing, soft, feminine, patient, not at all fierce. Superman, however, was recognizable, and that's what matters most. I still miss Tom Welling, but I did like Henry Cavill.
December 4, 2012 12:41 am Absolutely with you--Tyreese was my favorite character in the book, so his arrival was as exciting for me as Michonne's was for most everyone else. And Andrea's question of why Michonne would have attacked was a very fair question indeed...unless we are missing a lot of stuff that would fail to make sense in light of what we've seen, Michonne had no clear motivation.
December 4, 2012 12:29 am Me too. When every time I tuned in it turned out to be How to Train Your Dragon, I went through stages of grief week by week (never reached acceptance, as I am stubborn).
December 4, 2012 12:27 am Wonder Woman by Allan Heinberg and on the network that gave us Smallville & Arrow? I'm there!
November 24, 2012 5:41 pm This issue has one of my favorite Aquaman moments! Geoff Johns really uses him in inspired ways.
October 23, 2012 4:03 pm If College Humor wants to pay DC for a full page ad, I'm just happy DC sold some ad space and made some cash. As for the content of the ad...I don't see how LOLcats have anything to do with being a geek, unless your minimum definition for geek is "person with access to the Internet." It's not a well-written joke, but I'm not offended by it. It's just a weak attempt at comedy that relies on a stereotype, like oh-so-many other lame jokes out there. The only difference is this is one of the few stereotypes that doesn't have a special interest group to demand an apology after. I don't see how it merits much more response than an eye-roll.
September 6, 2012 2:03 am Yeah, this is a major cover design FAIL. It is definitely by Winick, which I only know because he confirmed it on Twitter, so it's back to the store for me to grab a copy.
August 10, 2012 12:54 am I would love to see a Batman sequel with John Blake wearing the cowl. I can't imagine any other way for the franchise to go that would be as satisfying. Joseph Gordon Levitt is phenomenal. And for fuck's sake, we don't need a reboot just because people think audiences couldn't learn to associate any name besides Bruce Wayne with Batman.
