Name: Patrick Smith

Bio: I Love Comics. In my family it's widely believed that I learned how to read from the old Spider-Man comics that were lying in a box in our attic. From there I saved my money for weeks on end and then when I had enough I would head to the local CVS and grab a whole slew of comics. Through middle/high school my intake slowed down but I grabbed some trades from time to time. But now I'm back and with a vengeance! Some of my favorite ongoing titles include: Amazing Spider-Man,  American Vampire, Batman and Robin, Chew, The Flash, GI Joe: Cobra, Hellblazer,  The Muppet Show, New Avengers, Sweet Tooth, The Unwritten, Morning Glories, Northlanders, and Hawkeye and Mockingbird.

February 14, 2011 7:20 pm Given how your start was in all ages comics how important do you think all ages books will be for the future of comics? Given the recent cancellation of Thor The Mighty Avenger and the downgrade to the upcoming Captain America: The Fighting Avenger it seems like a lot of comics arnt trying to hook kids anymore. I'm just wondering if introducing books like that, which would be a perfect way to introduce charecters without having to go through forty plus years of continuity, and then cancelling them is the right way to go?

Also: What are your thoughts about the Original graphic novel format ala the upcoming Takio.
