Ok, so this was my POW. That being said this issue was a mess. And most of that mess was on the art side. Now I know this is probablly due to time restraints as each artist didnt have enough time to contribute a whole issue but the transitions from Cameron Stewart to Chris Burnham to Frazer Irving were just jarring and ripped me right out of the story, and none of the really brought their A game to their segments. And I dont think thats their fault specifically but its a problem nontheless. Now the story on the other hand I thought was fantastic. I havent been reading The Return of Bruce Wayne but this issue worked just as well as a stand alone issue as it did as a piece to a larger puzzle. Morrison managed to fit everything hes been working toward for the last few years and is just chock full of cool moments: Dr Hurt’s actual origin, a spotlight on how effective dick and damien really are, Bruce’s final fight with Dr Hurt, Alfred’s joy that his surrogate son is back in the realm of the living, The Jokers last laugh, and a revelation that will change the dynamic of the Bat Books possibly forever. And like a switch being thrown, I am no longer indiffrent to Morrisons upcoming Batman Inc, I’m actually pretty damned excited for it

Also: Jim Gordons in a dress…..yep.
