April 18, 2013 10:46 am Same here. Those two pages made this pick of the week for me.
April 18, 2013 10:40 am I'm looking forward to Kiss-Ass 2 but I hope it will be less rape-y than the comic.
April 11, 2013 2:40 am I was not a fan of the first issue of this, but this second has completely reeled me back in. These first two issues should have been combined as an oversized 48 page special.
April 11, 2013 2:36 am "So shame on Comixology…I’d rather you don’t decide for me. Push the comics out there, and if Apple doesn’t think it meets their standards, then so be it. Let them be the bad guys. Because now, you are." Absolutely. This whole idea that we should let the distributors act as both content curators and the arbiters of morality is complete bullshit. Let us comic readers decide what we think is appropriate and exercise our freedom to buy and read what we want.
April 11, 2013 2:33 am Great point. Couldn't agree with you more. Vaughn might have spoken too soon but the fact is that French comics publisher Izneo still had to remove over 1500 of their books due to Apple/Comixology's content restrictions regarding sex and sexuality.
April 11, 2013 2:29 am Excellent article. Thank you and Josh both for clearing the air a bit and being reasonable about this nontroversy. And yeah, Sex #2 was awesome. I wasn't completely sold on the first issue, but #2 was the best comic I read this week.
April 8, 2013 6:22 pm I'm guessing this is kind of going to be a #0 issue with us finding out how Arcade became such of a formidable enemy all of a sudden. Looking forward to it. I just wish it was being drawn by Kev Walker.
April 8, 2013 6:21 pm Agreed, and they pulled the same scam with Super Crooks. This is probably the last Millar comic I buy for a long time. Hit-Girl came and went and I barely noticed, and Kick-Ass 2 was just kind of revolting. For a long time I held the torch for Millar's early/mid-2000s work but I'm finally starting to get tired of all the hype and shallow shock tactics.
April 3, 2013 11:24 pm This issue was awesome. I agree that the art wasn't as good as it could have been, but having just re-read Volume One of Ellis' run last week, I can say that this is good enough. The story was great though. I Ioved the new characters, and it's so nice to see Midnight and Apollo back in their old costumes and their relationship. The Weird was...well, very strange, but I like his inclusion. I'm hoping that Storm Control will turn out to be the New 52 version of Henry Bendix. Also, THE MAIN MAN!
April 3, 2013 5:53 pm I'm looking forward to picking this up. Nice mix of new and old characters. Love the classic look of Apollo and Midnighter, and rereading Volume One of Ellis' run on Stormwatch gave me a new appreciation for Hellstrike. I'm curious about the identity of Storm Control. Has Henry Bendix been introduced in the New 52 yet? I got one look at Storm Control and thought, man that kind of looks like Bendix in the early days of Ellis' run only with a big helmet on. And it would be just like Bendix to pull a Xorn-eto on Stormwatch.
