Jeff Lemire’s Animal Man was one of my favorite titles of the New 52, but as this book has been dragging its feet slowly towards the Rotworld crossover my enthusiasm for this title has continued to drop.

What is the point of this comic? Buddy has to stop the Rot/save Maxine/fight zombie Teen Titans *yaaaaaaaaawn*

Unlike Swamp Thing, which has tied the Rotworld story into its ongoing tale of doomed lovers and ancient enmity between the Green and the Rot, Animal Man is just a complacent hamster spinning on its wheel. What makes this even worse is that Steve Pugh’s art in this book is horrendous. Travel Foreman might have been an acquired taste, but this issue looks absolutely amateurish.

2.99 was too much for this issue. I am dropping this book once this crossover is finished.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 2 - Average
