This series has been a welcome surprise. I’d never read anything by Paul Tobin before, nor seen Juan Ferreyra’s lush,…

April 3, 2013 12:22 pm My reading habits lean more towards buying hardcovers and trades rather than single issues, and personally, the only time I regret buying a comic is if I feel like it is something I won't read a second time. Otherwise, why not just pick up all my comics from the public library at no cost? Every time I get to the point where I start to feel guilty that I don't have the time to reread books I've paid good money for, I start to reconsider the amount of money I'm spending on new material. This is also the same reason why I'll occasionally purchase comics I've already read, but haven't owned. If I know that a story arc is good because I've enjoyed it once before (maybe because I took it out from the library, or a friend loaned it to me) I have less reservations about buying it as a part of my permanent collection.
April 2, 2013 6:07 pm I'm very curious to see what Starlin does here. I'm a huge fan of Stormwatch/Authority from Warren Ellis' run onward but the New 52 reboot has left me with a bad taste in my mouth regarding DC"s handling of the WS characters. I will definitely be giving this a shot.
April 2, 2013 6:00 pm I liked what Soule had to say about his upcoming arc in the interview he did on this site but nothing in the solicitations excites me about these issues. What he had to say was very intriguing but this cover is just so generic.
April 2, 2013 5:58 pm I thought the Prelude to Planet Death was great but the first issue of Planet Death (X-O #11) fell kind of flat for me.
April 2, 2013 5:54 pm Dude don`t apologize. In my opinion the more people who know about the Jodoverse, the better.
April 1, 2013 1:35 pm Wasn't interested in this at all until you (Paul) mentioned on the podcast that it reminded you somewhat of the Incal/Metabarons style of science fiction worldbuilding. Then I was sold. I'll be picking this up in trades once it's collected.
March 19, 2013 10:52 am Yeah I'm really surprised to see Superboy Prime on this list if only for the fact that he was almost universally reviled during Infinite Crisis and still remains one of the most annoying and whiny villains of all time. Honestly I think a character like Terra from Teen Titans is far more deserving of the Top 5 spot than Superboy Prime.
March 18, 2013 5:02 pm Huh. I guess I saw Jae Lee's name attached to Batman/Superman and just completely blocked that solicit out of my mind.
March 18, 2013 3:12 pm So what the hell happened to Greg Park at Marvel? As someone who enjoyed his work on the Hulk, Alpha Flight, and Hercules, I'd be really interested to know that.
March 15, 2013 3:14 pm ".It seems to be that people are upset that this is being done to these fictional characters others have begun to love. It’s bothering people that Hopeless and team are taking these things that have been built up, and breaking them. I would respond that, yes, that is correct. I would further respond that that is exactly the correct thing to do in fiction." This is the exact reason why I'm enjoying the Valiant relaunch so much. The stories are anything but status quo, major characters can be killed, and I have absolutely no idea what direction they will take next. I had dropped Avengers Arena after #3 more to balance my comics budget than anything else, but my fiance' didn't realize that and she had me pick up #4, 5 and 6 for her. Looking forward to seeing how this first arc ended and seeing if it's worth continuing.
