‘Gotham is…

now Scott Snyders’ : )

Issue 1 introduces you to all the usual players in a fun and interesting way without breaking the story or weighing it down in narrative.

Every conversation, every panel, feels like it moves the story along. The story is stripped down and never gets too overly expositional.

I’ve heard the hype about Scott Snyder, and now i see why. Of all the No1’s i’ve picked up this is the only one that has fulfilled the point of the relaunch. It’s got me up to speed on Batman and immediately set up the new story. And all the while, which such lovely twists and teases throughout the story.

From the art side, i love the juxtaposition of colour used for each of the Bat’s worlds ‘Wayne’s world and Batman’s world). The art is gritty but with such wonderfully clean lines. love the way Capullo draws Batman.

loved it, loved it, loved it : )

Story: 5 - Excellent

Comments

  1. Gotham is indeed Snyder’s and I couldn’t be happier.

  2. If you loved this, I suggest blind-buying the trade of “The Black Mirror” when it comes out, it was an epic story and the art by Jock and Francesco Francavilla is beyond this world!
