I really enjoyed the art when they showed you the Rogue’s gallery that has escaped Arkum Assylum. Two Face looks particularly scarred up, the mask bag thing for Scarecrow is detailed and textured, and Mr. Freeze looks appropriately cold and chiiled, Killer Crock looks like a monster. Batman stories with Arkum escapes are among my favorite, as Batman is tested to his limits. nice “shot” of the Batcave as well.

You also get to see Batman with his whole flock of former Robins. We also get Bruce giving what is supposed to be an inspirational piece about the future of Gotham, but it just seems a little, i don’t know, contrived? I also was happy to see Det. Harvey Bullock.

Maybe I just have high expectations for Batman, and this one hit most of the points but not all of them. overall, I will keep reading it, but I am not dying for the next issue.

3 and half out 5 stars.

Story: 3 - Good
